Registration is free of charge at the "Cité Bibliothèque"

Registration on site

Registration on site is available for people residing in the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg or in the Greater Region. A valid ID card or any other official document is required in order to obtain a user card for the library. For children under the age of 14, the registration form card must be signed by the person who has parental authority for them.

Online registration

In order to facilitate the access to the Cité Bibliothèque, online registration is now also possible. Registration is available for people residing in the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg or in the Greater Region. You also have access to the digital and audiobooks programm (www.ebooks.lu). Please save the following registration form card on your computer, fill it out, sign it with your Luxtrust signature (by using a Signing Stick or a Smartcard), save it again and send it to

A bar-code user card is delivered to the user after registration. With this code or the user number and the password the user can extend loans and reserve documents on the website: www.a-z.lu

Registration entitles the user to free loans of:

4 books for a period of one month (renewable once)
2 audiobooks for a period of one month (renewable once)
2 movies for a period of one week (renewable once)
2 language learning methods of one month (renewable once)

Late returns

The reader will be barred from loan for maximum one year, for bringing back documents after the agreed date. (Article 11 of the internal rules)

Free internet

All adult registered users are entitled to free use of the 5 internet access terminals and a huge worktable in the "Cité-Bibliothèque".Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Use of the internet access terminals is limited to one hour a day. Printing costs 0,12 € per sheet.

Laptops can be used in the working area and free wireless internet is available. Electric connections are available under the working desks.

A paid-for photocopying service is available for private needs (0,12 € per copy A4).
